Elon Musk made big statement on Twitter shortly after buying the company that hints the richest man in the world has shifted to the political right.
The meme, hinting that Musk has shifted to the political right, is shown below.
The meme shouldn’t be taken as a literal indicator that Musk is politically conservative, but it does show a window into his thinking.
The meme shows several stick figure drawings and one showing a liberal figure moving farther to the left beside several dates. The 2021 figure shows a “woke progressive” accusing someone that used to be liberal as a bigot.
Musk did not include a comment on the post, but he did earlier declare that Twitter should become a “politically neutral” and plans to keep it a safe space for free speech.
Since the recent takeover of the company, conservatives have flocked back to the platform while liberal voices quickly left.
Noticeably, Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump Jr. and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis saw an increase in followers that numbered in the hundreds of thousands in recent days.
On the other hand, AOC, Hillary Clinton and Ellen DeGeneres lost tens of thousands of followers, since Musk took over the company.
Theories abounded that Twitter staff had made changes to the code to cover up previous shadow banning or that Musk, himself, had directed them to change the platform. This isn’t true.
The company put out a statement stating that they had put a halt on staff changing the application as well to prevent tampering or negative media around the company reaction to the new owner.
Please let us know in the comments below if you plan on getting back on Twitter in light of Elon Musk’s takeover of the platform.
