“Fictosexual” Man’s Marriage to Computer Synthesized Pop Singer in Trouble

This story definitely falls into the category of you can’t make this sh*t up. Like it or not, most of us are aware that there are a lot more sexual preference categories out there than there were, say, 20 years ago. Well, here’s one you may not have heard of yet.

Someone who is fictosexual is sexually attracted to fictional characters. Apparently, this is more common in Japan, where thousands of people have fallen in love with fictional characters. One man, however, who married his love, 16 year old computer synthesized pop singer Hatsune Miku, has a problem. You see, he still loves Miku, but they now have a problem communicating.

Now, you may be thinking, that sounds just like my marriage. And you’re right: a lot of relationships have difficulty in the area of communication. But Miku’s husband, 38 year old Akihiko Kondo, literally can no longer communicate with Miku.

You see, since 2017 Kondo has been able to communicate with his fictional, computer synthesized pop singer bride using a $1,300 device that allowed owners to interact with characters via holograms. But alas, as is often the case with technology, support for the device is no longer available, so Kondo’s wife has literally gone mute.

Love is hard, and many of us might like it if our significant other went mute, at least for a little while. Kondo, however, is unhappy but is trying to make the best of an awkward situation. He now carries around a life-sized version of his lovely bride. When he married her, he intended to be with her forever, and that hasn’t changed.

We wish them a long and happy life.
