Tom Cruise made quite the stirring entrance to kick off the premiere to his new movie Top Gun: Maverick. He arrived in Top Gun style and landed a helicopter on the USS Midway Air Craft Carrier to kick it off. The movie is set to be released in May 2022 and comes 36 years after the original movie.

The man sure knows how to make a stylish entrance and flew himself to the premiere.

Tom Cruise is famous for doing his own stunts in films and came out of the helicopter dressed to the nines in a black tux to wave to his diehard fans that have waited for a long time to see the follow up to the original one.

Cruise, a father of three, took time to pose for pictures with other stars of the film: Jennifer Connelly, Monica Barbaro and Miles Teller in front of a large crowd in San Diego.

Teller, 35, wore a blue suit to the premier and plays Goose’s son and the new protege to Maverick in the movie. He was there with his wife Keleigh Sperry. Connelly wore a gold gown and was there with her husband Paul Bettany.

Cruise was not able to fly in the original Top Gun but 28 years ago he got his pilot license. He has used it to perform dangerous aerial stunts in his movies.

In the new movie, Top Gun Maverick, Cruise is a test pilot who has dodged the advancement in rank that would have taken him out of the air.

The movie was scheduled to be released in 2019, but was delayed because of the pandemic. It’s expected to be a blockbuster movie and explores modern military themes such as drones.

Val Kilmer does take on his iconic role as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky again in the movie.
