It’s great to see politicians actually doing their jobs for once to protect our rights. 20 GOP Attorney Generals from around the country have sent a scathing threat to President Biden to shut down his new Disinformation Governance Board…Or else!

The GOP leaders wrote and signed onto a letter, showing a united front. It opens with a statement of purpose, saying: “As the chief legal officers of our respective States, we the undersigned Attorneys General are tasked not just with enforcing the laws, but with protecting the constitutional rights of all our citizens.”

The letter continues, defining Biden’s actions as a suppression of constitutional rights. “Today we write you to insist that you immediately cease taking action that appears designed exclusively for the purpose of suppressing the exercise of constitutional rights,”

That’s when all the pleasantries end, however. The Attorney Generals waste little time getting to the meat of the issue, the Disinformation Board itself, writing, “The existence of the Disinformation Governance Board will inevitably have a chilling effect on free speech. Americans will hesitate before they voice their constitutionally protected opinions, knowing that the government’s censors may be watching, and some will decide it is safer to keep their opinions to themselves.”

The letter concludes with a vague but poignant threat, saying: “Unless you turn back now and disband this Orwellian Disinformation Governance Board immediately, the undersigned will have no choice but to consider judicial remedies to protect the rights of their citizens.”

While the initial step may seem to be nothing but a letter, in the world of legal actions this is required before the follow up, which is full-scale legal war with the backing of the states against the White House.
