Gov. DeSantis: Florida will Not Subsidize Disney’s “Corporate Speech”

Ron DeSantis sent a message straight to the heart of the “Happiest Place On Earth” and made it crystal clear that they will be governed by Florida laws the same as any other company would.

In a press conference, DeSantis said Disney will “not have its own government in Florida.” He has made it repeatedly obvious with the company that he plans on taking them to task after they opposed him publicly earlier in the year.

DeSantis has stuck to his guns and is moving to strip Disney of its ability to self-govern. The governor’s response comes after Disney pushed back against his “Parental Rights in Education Bill.”

It’s also working. Disney has lost 63 billion in the market since the announcement by the Florida Governor.

On April 22, he signed a bill that strips the Walt Disney corp of it’s self-governing authority in Orlando after the Republican legislature approved the bill that lets the company operate it’s 25,000 acreage that it operates four theme parks, two water parks and 175 miles of roads on.

DeSantis called Disney’s special privilege under the law “an aberration.” He continued that “no individual or no company in Florida is treated this way.”
