Joy Behar Proposes Sex Strike to Save Abortion

Joy Behar sure does love voicing her opinion. Now she has come up with a new plan to save abortion access, and it all has to do with sex.

The long-time host of The View, who is a strong advocate for abortion access, let her large, female heavy audience know she wants them to refuse sex until abortion access is codified, either by the Supreme Court or Congress.

Behar stated, “Women in the world have conducted sex strikes in history. In 2003, a sex strike helped to end Liberia’s brutal civil war and the woman who started it was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2009, Kenyan women enforced a sex ban until police political infighting ceased. Within one week, there was a stable government.”

Behar continued, “We have more power than we think we do and some of it could be in the bedroom and what a perfect weapon and method for the topic we’re talking about.”

Co-host Whoopie Goldberg weighed in, as well, suggesting the ending of abortion access could backfire on both women and men long run while avoiding and specific consequences of the action.

Whoopie said, “I want us all to have the same rights, the right to decide what is right for yourself [and] your family. You don’t have to have an abortion. I don’t have to have an abortion. No one does, but if someone needs one, why shouldn’t they be able to get it? And, otherwise, men, this is going to come after you in some weird way too.”

The women of The View made their stances on abortion access as a right very clear. Do you think their strategy will work?
