Hollywood is facing yet another on-set scandal that has forced them to take action. Fans are shocked that former child star Fred Savage is the latest to lose his job over bad behavior. 

Disney removed Savage as the director and executive producer of The Wonder Years reboot after concluding an investigation into “inappropriate conduct” on the set.

The company released statement about why it cut ties with Savage after receiving multiple complaints of misconduct in his dual role on the ABC comedy series.

“Recently, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Fred Savage, and as is policy, an investigation was launched. Upon its completion, the decision was made to terminate his employment as an executive producer and director of The Wonder Years,” the spokesperson said.

No details about the allegations were given but Deadline reported they included verbal outbursts and other inappropriate behavior. 

Savage is well known for his role as Kevin Arnold from the original 1980’s series about a teenager growing up in a suburban middle-class family in the late 1960s.

Yet that wholesome image has been tarnished as this is not the only time Savage has faced accusations of on-set misconduct.

Actress Alley Mills said the original series was canceled after a “completely ridiculous sexual harassment suit” field by a customer against Savage, only 16 at the time, and costar Jason Hervey. The lawsuit was settled out of court.

In 2018, Savage faced a lawsuit that alleged he attacked and harassed a crew member on the set of the 2015 Fox series The Grinder. After an investigation by the studio, no evidence of wrongdoing was found. That lawsuit was also settled out of court.

The Wonder Years reboot of the well-regarded 1980’s series focused on Black middle-class residents of Montgomery, Alabama during the 1960’s. The series finished its first season and has not been renewed for a second but there are no signs of it being canceled.
