Elon Musk WILL REVERSE Trump’s Twitter Ban

It almost seems like Elon Musk’s definition of a successful day is one where the media cannot stop talking about him. Now he is making their heads spin with his big, new, conservative-friendly announcement about Twitter…that former President Trump will be allowed back on!

The revelation came in classic Musk fashion during an event about the future of cars in the world hosted by the Financial Times.

Musk BLASTED Twitter’s decision on the former President, saying, “I think it was a morally bad decision, to be clear, and foolish in the extreme,”

He continued, “I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump. I think that was a mistake. It alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice.”

Dan Primack, an editor at the notoriously hard-left leaning Axios, tweeted at former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on the revelation, saying,

“Musk says @jack agrees with him that there shouldn’t be permanent bans on individual Twitter users. Reminder that Dorsey was CEO when such bans were implemented.”

Dorsey responded to the tweet, saying both that he agreed with Musk AND that he never outwardly supported life-time bans from the get-go, attaching an old tweet to the new one.

Dorsey’s tweet read: “I do agree. There are exceptions (CSE, illegal behaviour, spam or network manipulation, etc), but generally permanent bans are a failure of ours and don’t work, which I wrote about here after the event (and called for a resilient social media protocol): ‘I do not celebrate or feel pride in our having to ban @realDonaldTrump from Twitter, or how we got here. After a clear warning we’d take this action, we made a decision with the best information we had based on threats to physical safety both on and off Twitter. Was this correct?’

Dorsey was revealed to be one of Elon Musk’s strongest advocates for his Twitter takeover.

Despite boasting a Twitter following of over 88 million profiles, former President Trump has said in the past he would not return to Twitter even if his account was reinstated to try and focus his efforts on his own personal social media company, Truth Social. Of course, it will be hard to know if that will hold or not considering the sheer outreach potential he has on Twitter, which boasts around 300 million daily active users vs Truth Social with roughly 2 million total daily active users, especially when it comes time for the 2024 election.

It will still be several months until Elon officially takes over his new, private social media platform as the $44 billion transaction is finalized and the transfer to the new owner is made. Do you think Elon will keep his word to reinstate Trump? Do you think Trump will stick to Truth Social or do you think he will eventually move back to the new, conservative friendly version of his once-favorite platform?
