Psaki: Biden Encourages Protests Outside Supreme Court Justice’s Homes

Even though there is a Federal law prohibiting it, Joe Biden encourages peaceful protests outside of the homes of the Supreme Court Justices. This from Jen Psaki, who is aware that the protests are about what was contained in the draft Supreme Court order leaked just over a week ago.

18 U.S. Code § 1507 – Picketing or parading states: “Whoever, with the intent of interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness, or court officer, in the discharge of his duty, pickets or parades in or near a building housing a court of the United States, or in or near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness, or court officer, or with such intent uses any sound-truck or similar device or resorts to any other demonstration in or near any such building or residence, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both. Nothing in this section shall interfere with or prevent the exercise by any court of the United States of its power to punish for contempt.”

So, ipso facto, the President of the United States is encouraging people to break Federal law. It could not be more clear that the protestors intend to influence the Justices… in the discharge of [their] duties…and are picketing or parading…near a residence occupied or used by such judge[s]…[.] What else could they possibly be trying to do?

But you can bet Biden will make sure these particular protestors won’t be fined or imprisoned. Of course, he has no trouble making sure that anyone at the Capitol with a MAGA hat on January 6 goes to jail for as long as possible.

Here’s exactly how the outgoing Press Secretary put it: “I think I said yesterday, but I’m happy to repeat because I think it’s important for everybody to hear that the President’s long-standing view has been that violence, threats and intimidation of any kind have no place in political discourse.” “And we believe, of course, in peaceful protests. What I do find interesting, and I think most many people have noted, is that there are voices on the right who have called out these protests that are happening while remaining silent for years on protests that have happened outside of the homes of school board members, the Michigan secretary of state, or including threats made to women seeking reproductive health care or even an insurrection against our capital.”

What Psaki, and by association Biden, fail to understand is that protesting outside the homes of Supreme Court Justices, while they are in the process of deciding a case, is criminal. We simply cannot allow, in this country, people to intimidate Supreme Court Justices. It is simply unconscionable. Should these protestors go to jail?
