Melania Trump is back with a vengeance. It’s not only her husband who is willing to come out swinging, and the former First Lady has her sights set on big wigs like Anna Wintour and even Joe Biden himself.
FOX News TV Personality Pete Hegseth began by asking Melania how it felt to be targeted relentlessly by the media while seeing how they treat other First Ladies and even Kamala Harris.
“Take Vogue, for example — five months into Joe Biden’s presidency, Jill Biden’s on the cover. Kamala Harris is on the cover before she’s even sworn in. Hillary Clinton was on the cover when she was first lady. Michelle was on the cover three times,” Hegseth pointed out, “Yet with your business background and your fashion background and your beauty, never on the cover of Vogue. Why the double standard?”
Former First Lady Melania Trump, an accomplished international model and businesswoman who grew up poor in the former Soviet Union, fired back, “They’re biased and they have likes and dislikes, and it’s so obvious. And I think American people and everyone sees it. It was their decision, and I have much more important things to do — and I did in the White House — than being on the cover of Vogue.”
Melanie had appeared on the cover of Vogue in 2005 when she married Donald Trump. She was also offered a photoshoot by Vogue when Trump first took office in 2017, however they refused to guarantee her to cover page so she declined.
Of course, while the glaring omission of Melania from the cover of Vogue is possibly the most obvious slight by Anna Wintour and her magazine, she is not the only Republican First Lady to be slighted by the magazine. Both former First Ladies Laura and Barbara Bush were also denied the cover of Vogue while their respective husbands were in office.
Melania Trump made waves when she became the only First Lady since Lou Henry Hoover in 1929 to not appear in Vogue at all during her husband’s time in office.
During the same FOX News interview, the former First Lady also slammed Joe Biden for his “lack of leadership” in the baby formula crisis facing our country. She told Hesgeth, “It’s heartbreaking to see that they are struggling and the food is not available for children in 21st century in the United States of America.”
Melania’s interview comes during an important time for the 2022 election cycle, with liberal voters quickly becoming more active since the repeal of Roe v Wade was leaked. Do you think her interview will help shift more momentum in favor of Republicans?
