Recently, Nina Jankowicz, Biden’s head of the White House’s newly created Disinformation Governance Board, said she thinks Tweets should be able to be edited by other “trustworthy” users, similar to Wikipedia. Elon Musk was not onboard.

Musk gave a one word response to Janowicz’s idea: “disconcerting.”

Elon Musk says it’s “disconcerting” that the head of Joe Biden’s new “Ministry of Truth” wants to let only certain people “add context” to any tweet they don’t like.

In Jankowicz’s world, here’s how things would work: “If President [Donald] Trump were still on Twitter and tweeted a claim about voter fraud, someone could add context from one of the 60 lawsuits that went through the court or something that an election official said…so that people have a fuller picture rather than just an individual claim on a tweet,” she said.

Jankowicz also claims that she is “verified” on Twitter, but that “there are a lot of people who shouldn’t be verified, who aren’t legit” because “they’re not trustworthy.” She thinks that “Verified people can essentially start to ‘edit’ Twitter [in] the same sort of way that Wikipedia is so they can add context to certain tweets.”

This is how “trustworthy” the “verified” Jankowicz is. She is a left leaning liberal who once spread “misinformation” herself, right on Twitter, about Hunter Biden’s laptop.

In 2020, she Tweeted: Back on the “laptop from hell,” apparently- Biden notes 50 former natsec officials and 5 former CIA heads that believe the laptop is a Russian influence op. Trump says “Russia, Russia, Russia.”

The fact that Jankowicz would propose the idea of verified Twitter users, like her, “adding context” to others’ Tweets is at minimum “disconcerting.” It’s more like “Big Brother” correcting our free speech. What do you think of her idea?
