Tim Scott Attacks DOJ Over Silence on SCOTUS Harassment

South Carolina Senator Tim Scott called out Joe Biden’s Department of Justice for their inaction on protecting Supreme Court Justices as well as the court itself from threats of violence and destruction by pro-abortion protesters.

Senator Scott sat down with digital newspaper Daily Wire to discuss a recent report that the government is investigating threats to kill the conservative Supreme Court Justices as well as storm and burn down the Court over the repeal of Roe v Wade.

The report came from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), however, and Scott was attacking Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice for not being silent and taking no real actions to protect the Court.

“It is disgusting, despicable, and undeniable that the Department of Justice needs to stand up and take care, protect our justices and their families,” Scott told The Daily Wire. “This is a real threat that should be taken seriously.”

The original memo, issued by the Department of Homeland Security on May 13, said those death threats “are likely to persist and may increase leading up to and following the issuing of the Court’s official ruling.”

Senator Scott also called on the average American citizen regardless of their political affiliation to stand up for and defend the right to free speech as well as our Justices.

“I would hope that all Americans would come together to defend the right embedded in our Constitution to free speech,” he said. “I would hope that we would send a clear message to folks who want to intimidate our justices: Not here, not now, not ever.”

Liberal pro-abortion activists have been protesting outside of the conservative Justices’ homes after an activist organization poster their personal addresses online so they could be harassed. The Biden administration has signaled their continued support for these protests.
