Alec Baldwin Roasted Online After Comments on Airport Fight

Television star Alec Baldwin felt the brunt of the internet’s fury after the actor weighed in on “workplace abuse” after shooting dead his own cinematographer on the set of the film Rust.

The story begins after a video of NFL player Brendan Langley and an airport worker trading blows at the baggage check-in line went viral over the weekend.

Baldwin, who has only recently emerged into the public following the shooting, took to Instagram to let everyone know his own thoughts on the situation.

“The guy working at the airport is the victim,” Baldwin wrote on Instagram. “He came to work to do a job.”

The actor continued, “The other guy, with his big mouth, is guilty of workplace abuse, where people come to work with an expectation of safety, even civility.”

Now-deleted post by Alec Baldwin

Despite Baldwin since deleting his statement, the internet was fast to go after the controversial actor for his post.

“Sit this one out,” one Instagrammer said under the post.

Another followed up, “If ‘shoot first ask questions later’ was a person!”

Celebrities were quick to weigh in as well.

“A man who (accidentally) shot and killed his co-worker at work is lecturing us on WORKPLACE SAFETY? Ffs..” Piers Morgan wrote as well.

Brigitte Gabriel, a conservative author, wrote: “Alec Baldwin shouldn’t comment on anything ESPECIALLY workplace violence.”

The fight in question started when the worker confronted Langley over the ex-NFL player’s decision to use a wheelchair to move his bags through the airport instead of one of the paid luggage carts. The video appears to show the airport worker throwing the first blow with Langley asking him to stop hitting him before he finally fought back.

Since the incident, Langley has been charged by the Port Authority with simple assault and the worker has yet to be charged.

Baldwin, on the other hand, has his own history of workplace issues, from the shooting of Halyna Hutchins on the set of his movie to punching and screaming at cameramen.

It seems a lot like Baldwin spoke before he put much thought into it and was so embarrassed by the reactions that he took it down. Do you think Baldwin has any right to discuss issues of workplace violence after his issues?
