The top scientific journal in the world, Nature, has ordered all of their writers to consider gender and sex biases in their articles.

The prestigious British science magazine has long been lauded by the scientific community as a premier place to write up pieces on their studies. Now, however, bosses are demanding that gender play a role in the pieces written by the scientists.

The message from the top brass read, “From now on, researchers who submit papers to a subset of Nature Portfolio journals will be prompted to state whether and how sex and gender were considered in their study design.”

It’s also clear that the gender and sex bias guidelines go far beyond human beings, covering anything from vertebrates all the way down to cell lines.

“The changes apply to studies with human participants, on other vertebrates or on cell lines, in which sex and gender is an appropriate consideration,” Nature staff wrote.

Bosses at the magazine justified their change to reporting guidelines, emphasizing that the analysis will judge not just the data, but also potential bias of the author and reviewer of the article.

Their official statement read, “The aim here is to improve understanding of the degree to which sex and gender reporting is already part of study design, data collection and analysis in the research these journals publish. The journals will also evaluate author and reviewer reception of the changes so that we can iterate on them as we learn through experience.”

The magazine has been attacked by leftist activists in the recent past. They were heavily criticized for referring to the pandemic as a “Chinese Virus” in 2020. After being called racist for the reporting, they promised to apply more “social science” to their paper.
