Stacey Abrams: Georgia is “Worst State” to Live in

Georgia’s perennial Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams claimed over the weekend that Georgia is the Worst state in the country to live in.

She said in a speech at the Gwinnett Democrats’ Bluetopia Gala in Norcross Saturday that Georgia, the state she is currently running to lead, may be good for business but it’s bad for the people who live there. She told the audience, “I am tired of hearing about how we’re the best state in the country to do business when we are the worst state in the country to live.”

Seemingly realizing the massive political snafu Abrams had just made, she quickly attempted to cover it.

She continued by saying, “Let me contextualize. When you’re number 48 for mental health, when we’re number one for maternal mortality, when you have an incarceration rate that’s on the rise and wages that are on the decline, then you are not the number one place to live.”

In classic political fashion, Abrams has been continuing to try and cover up her mistake, re-emphasizing her initial answer with a tweet almost perfectly reiterating her cover statement on stage.

Her tweet reads: “GA may be #1 place for biz, but we’re #48 in mental health, #2 in uninsured. #1 in maternal mortality & new HIV cases, #9 in gun violence. For too many, Kemp’s Georgia doesn’t include them. Why? Because #KempDoesntCare

Abrams is is expected to run against sitting Governor Brian Kemp as the Democratic nominee for Governor of Georgia. Despite the primary not having happened yet, Kemp is expected to defeat Trump-backed candidate David Perdue.

A recent poll from FOX News revealed that 60% of Republican primary voters prefer Brian Kemp versus only 28% for Perdue.

Do you think Democrats will have a chance in Georgia this year despite Joe Biden’s dismal approval ratings? Do you think Trump actively opposing Kemp’s re-election will help Democrats gain the governorship if he is the Republican candidate in November?
