Biden Makes Another False Claim, This Time While Speaking At Naval Academy

In the latest episode of You Never Know What Biden’s Going To Say, Joe Biden made a statement to the Naval Academy that just didn’t add up. His handlers must get exhausted trying to keep up.

On Friday, May 27, Joe Biden gave the commencement address at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Biden said, “I was told the Class of ’72 is here. I was appointed to the academy in 1965 by a senator who I was running against in 1972 — never planned it that way. I wasn’t old enough to be sworn in. I was only 29 years old when I was running. He was a fine man. His name is J. Caleb Boggs. I didn’t come to the academy because I wanted to be a football star. And you had a guy named [Roger] Staubach and [Joe] Bellino here. So I went to Delaware,” reported the New York Post. Also according to the New York Post, Biden graduated from the University of Delaware in 1965.

RNC Research tweeted: “Joe Biden falsely claimed he “was appointed to the [Naval] Academy in 1965” while speaking to Naval Academy graduates today. Biden graduated from the University of Delaware in 1965, making that impossible.”

Biden continued his tale: “But all kidding aside, the best line of the debate was after it’s all over, the announcer, the questioner — who was a good guy, but supported my opponent, who was a good man as well, I might add — and he said, ‘Sen. Boggs, is there anything else you want to say?’ And he said, ‘Yes, just one thing.’ And he took the microphone. He said, ‘You know, Joe, if you accepted my commission to the — my appointment to the academy,’ he said, ‘you’d still have one year and three months’ active duty and I’d have no problems right now.’”

Biden said he decided to go to the University of Delaware because he wanted to be a football star but the Naval Academy already had two stars. But had he attended the Academy, he’d have had to serve in the Navy when he graduated, during the Viet Nam War.

Biden, however, has a history of making sure that never happened. Joe Biden never served in the military. Instead, he “received five student draft deferments and a conditional medical deferment while studying at the University of Delaware and Syracuse University in the 1960s, the latter following a physical exam in April 1968 that led to him being classified as I-Y, which meant he could only be drafted in the case of a national emergency. When he was chosen as Mr Obama’s running-mate in 2008, a spokesperson explained that asthma had been the reason given for the exemption at the time,” reported The Independent. According to SFGATE in 2008, in his memoir Promises to Keep, “Biden never mentions his asthma, recounting an active childhood, work as a lifeguard and football exploits in high school.”

See why Nancy Pelosi’s husband was just arrested

What a loser. Not only did he state fake facts during his commencement address, it was to men and women who are willing to sacrifice their lives for our country. Biden, however, made sure he never had to make that sacrifice. Is Biden a coward?
