Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi was allegedly arrested on Saturday night in Napa County, California.
The arrest happened at 11:44 PM, when officers pulled over the powerful Congresswoman’s husband for driving under the influence.
According to the report from Napa County records, Mr. Pelosi was booked into jail at 04:13 a.m. on Sunday, and released at 7:26 a.m. with a bail set for $5000. Paul Pelosi is 82 years old and has been married to his wife Nancy since 1963.
Now, TMZ has reported in a new update that Paul was involved in a car crash, and that’s how officers spotted him. At 10:26 PM Saturday night, the CHP got a call about a 2-car crash in the Napa area, this according to the collision report obtained by TMZ. Paul was driving a 2021 Porsche when his car was struck by a Jeep. He was arrested at 11:44 PM and booked into the Napa County Detention Center for DUI. No one was injured in the crash.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi was not around at the time of the arrest. She was giving a speech on Sunday in Rhode Island while her husband was back home. Her office refused to comment on the “private” matter, with her spokesperson simply saying “The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast.”
California Highway Patrol officer Andrew Barclay said that more information on the arrest will become available on Sunday.
Paul Pelosi is the owner and founder of investment firm Financial Leasing Services which has helped him and his career politician wife achieve a net worth of $135 million, making House Speaker Pelosi one of the 10 richest members of the US Congress.
The arrest is big news because Paul Pelosi is the husband of America’s most powerful Congressperson. Do you think the charges against him will stick or is his wife influential enough at this point to bury the arrest and the story to the point where they never seemed to even happen?
