Biden Makes False Claim About January 6 Rioters During Speech

Sitting President Joseph Biden has made another false claim about the January 6, 2021 riots at the Capital during a speech to his alma mater over the weekend.

Biden, who graduated from the University of Delaware in 1965, was speaking to a crowd of outgoing seniors when he made the assertion that 2 police officers were killed by the rioters.

In truth, no police died on January 6, and one that died the following day was found to have died of natural causes.

Still, the reality of the situation didn’t stop the leader of our country from an attempt to demonize his own citizenry. Strangely enough, President Biden also made a comparison to a fictional similar event happening at the British Parliament in London despite Delaware being in the United States.

“A mob of insurrectionists stormed the Capitol, the very citadel of democracy,” Biden told the newly minted graduates. “Imagine what you’d be thinking today if you had heard this morning before you got here that a group of a thousand people broke down the doors of the parliament of Great Britain, killed two police officers, smashed and ransacked the office of members of the British Parliament or any other, what would you think? What would you think?”

The rumors Biden is trying to add fuel to are based on officer Brian Sicknick, who the department initially claimed was “injured while physically engaging with protesters” and “was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.” However, a medical examination of Sicknick showed he died on January 7 from natural causes caused by 2 back-to-back strokes.

Two other officers who were on the scene for January 6,  Metropolitan Police Officer Jeffrey Smith and Capitol Police Officer Howard Liebengood, did commit suicide following the event. Despite these deaths, no cops were actually killed by rioters.

Back in March, Biden made a similar claim, that time suggesting rioters had killed 5 police officers and again comparing it to Britain’s Parliament.

Biden told a crowd in Wisconsin, “Look, how would you feel if you saw crowds storm and break down the doors of the British Parliament, kill five cops, injure 145 — or the German Bundestag, or the Italian Parliament?”

Biden has a long history of making up stories to support his narrative. Whether it was the dead officers, a non-existent AMTRAK worker, or his legendary fight with the cereal Corn Pops, this has become a pattern. Do you think he is simply lying or has he actually lost the ability to separate fiction from reality?
