Daily Beast Apologizes to Hunter Biden Laptop Repairman

The Daily Beast finally issued an apology to a Delaware-based laptop repairman named John Paul Mac Isaac after they incorrectly accused him of stealing Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Mac Isaac, who released the now infamous laptop to the public, came into possession of it after Hunter Biden abandoned the device in his repair shop in April of 2019. He then contacted Donald Trump’s lawyer at the time, Rudy Giuliani, with a copy and gave the original hard drive to the FBI.

Giuliani then gave over information from the hard drive to the New York Post, who published a series of emails and images that included Hunter Biden making shady foreign business deals referencing his father, Joe Biden, as well as images of him doing copious amounts of drugs with strippers and prostitutes.

The article by the Daily Beast, “The Seeds of Hunter Biden’s Current Legal Woes Were Found on His Laptop,” was updated with an Editor’s Note reading, “An earlier version of this story mistakenly referred to Hunter Biden’s laptop as ‘stolen.’ We have removed that word, and we apologize to Mr. Mac Isaac for the error.”

The apology was only issued after the repairman filed a defamation suit against the Daily Beast, CNN, Politico and Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff seeking at least $1 million compensatory and an unspecified amount in punitive damages.

Mac Isaac claimed that the publishing of the defamatory articles about him and the laptop caused him to have to close down his shop as well as led to him receiving hate mail and death threats.

The networks he is suing also alleged that he was a possible Russian plant simply out to hurt Biden and his family.

Initially many of the news outlets ignored the story and social media companies even blocked it from being shared during the 2020 election. Since then, however, they have finally admitted that the documents were authentic, with several publishing some of the Biden emails themselves.

Sadly, this is not the first time that the mainstream media has pushed fake narratives to try and ruin the lives of people they dislike. They did the same thing to Nick Sandmann from Covington Catholic school when they declared him a racist after a video of him went viral. They were also forced to apologize and pay an undisclosed amount for the damage caused. Do you think Mac Isaac will win his suit over the Hunter Biden laptop?
