Florida Sheriff Says Exactly How He’d Neutralize An Active Shooter

Since the horrible incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, everyone on both sides has come out and said what needs to change and what should’ve been done differently that day. One Florida Sheriff says he knows exactly what needs to happen in those situations.

Polk County, Florida Sheriff Grady Judd is tired of hearing people say that arming teachers would never work. He’s especially sick of liberal media, like MSNBC News, saying that Uvalde somehow proved that arming teachers would be futile. He says the tragic mistakes law enforcement made in Uvalde prove even more that teachers or other adults at schools should be trained to use firearms.

Speaking to Fox News, Sheriff Judd didn’t hold back when he said, “We know that shootings, these active shooter [situations], are done between zero and 5 minutes; the police response is ‘+5’ minutes. We also know that active shooters don’t get to change it to a barricade situation. When you go in shooting, even though you pause, it doesn’t mean there aren’t injured children or people lying there. Once an active shooter, always an active shooter. Push-in, save lives, neutralize the threat. We train for that. I want them to shoot them, shoot them so much that you can read the local newspaper through them.”

Sheriff Judd has also spelled it out to any potential school shooters in his county, saying, “This is the last thing you’ll see before we put a bullet through your head if you’re trying to hurt our children. We’re going to shoot you graveyard dead.” “This” meaning officers with guns pointed right at the shooter, as seen in the video below.

Sheriff Judd has a lot of support for what he’s said in this regard. One twitter user said, “the greatest sheriff in America and he’s right here in FLORIDA! ‘Polk County Florida Sheriff Grady Judd made clear his deputies are trained to take out attackers before they get inside schools and added, ‘We’ll shoot you graveyard dead.’”

And another said, “[j]ust a shout out on Memorial Day to Grady Judd, Sheriff in Polk County Florida. We need hundreds more like him, protecting our Children. God bless you on Memorial Day, MR. JUDD. Enjoy the day.”

And finally, Ultra MAGA MAX said, “The best sheriff in the United States Polk County Florida Grady Judd[.]”

Bottom line, according to Sheriff Judd, “… the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. There needs to be multiple people on that campus in advance, well-trained, who are prepared to and can go in and stop the threat.”

Canada’ Prime Minister just instituted national handgun ban

Sheriff Judd makes a lot of sense. It’s hard to imagine that, had Sheriff Judd’s plan been in place at Robb Elementary School, the shooter would have been able to kill so many young children, and two of their teachers. Would kids be safer at school if there were more like Sheriff Judd?
