Harvard Grad Walks Out On Merrick Garland’s Commencement Speech, Goes Viral

As a general rule, people who are admitted to Harvard, and especially those who are able to get through and graduate, are pretty smart. One is so smart, she walked out on her graduation ceremony because of the speaker.

Biden’s Attorney General, Merrick Garland, gave the commencement address at Harvard University on Memorial Day weekend and not everyone was impressed. Emma Heussner obtained her master’s degree in psychology from Harvard in 2020 but didn’t get to walk the stage in a ceremony that year due to Covid restrictions.

One twitter user has even said this: “Many are saying she is the smartest to ever graduate from Harvard @emmaheussner

Ms. Heussner, who now works for the Daily Caller, tweeted that she “just walked out of Harvard’s graduation because I didn’t want to listen to Merrick Garland talk about himself for 30 minutes[,]” reports Fox News.

Heussner’s tweet went viral after she posted, causing her to go from 1000 followers to 11,000 very quickly.

About walking out on AG Garland, Heussner told Fox News Digital, “by the time Merrick Garland finally started speaking, it was very much — I think he was trying to be inspirational and motivating, as in, ‘You guys are responsible for making the world a better place. But the way it read, was very much like, ‘This country sucks and you guys can fix it.,” which, she said, “didn’t sit right with me.”

Heussner has high expectations for someone in a position such as the one Merrick Garland holds, and clearly they were not met. She said she didn’t “want to be preached to by Merrick Garland, when he was talking a lot of talk but not really walking the walk that he was preaching.”

Fox News Digital also spoke with William Bennett, former Secretary of Education for Ronald Reagan who, when asked about the Harvard grad walking out on Merrick Garland said, “Well, good for her.” He added, “Garland is such a disappointment … He’s no moderate. This is a replay of Joe Biden in the uniform of the attorney general. We’ve heard all of this before. There is nothing new. ‘America is a wreck. Democracy is under threat … January 6 … ‘ My God. That’s not what you pay all that money for,” Bennett said regarding Garland’s speech.

Clearly Heussner is not the only one disappointed in Attorney General Merrick Garland. He was given the position because he never got to be a Supreme Court Justice. Afterall, he’s not Black or female, so there must have been some reason. Do you think he’s done a good job as Attorney General? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
