Biden On Track to Break Presidential Vacation Record

Apparently there is nothing that President Joe Biden loves more than a vacation. That’s why he is now on track to beat the all-time record for most vacations taken by a president.

Since taking office on Jan 20, 2021, Biden has already spent 188 full or partial days vacationing outside of the White House. All of his vacations so far have been to either of his two Delaware properties, Camp David or on Nantucket island in Massachusetts.

Specifically, this is how Biden has spent his vacation time:

  • 130 days in either Rehoboth or Wilmington, Delaware
  • 52 days at Camp David
  • and six days visiting the luxury island retreat of Nantucket

The assessment comes as President Biden is preparing to spend yet another weekend at his beach house in Delaware. Sunday will mark his 500th day in office, at least if you count all of the time vacationing.

At the rate he is currently going, Biden will spend over 550 total days away from the White House by 2024. By comparison, former President Donald Trump took off 381 days while in office, mostly spent at Mar-a-Lago and his other property in Bedminster, New Jersey. That would mean that Biden is on pace to out-vacation Trump by around 170 days, or roughly 50 percent more break time.

Back in February, the sitting President even bragged about all of his vacationing, saying, “Every time I get a chance, I go home to Delaware. You think I’m joking. I’m not.” He has also previously referred to the White House as a “gilded cage”.

The all time record is currently held by former President George W Bush, who took 1020 vacation days over his 8 years. If Biden somehow wins a 2nd term in office, he would be on pace to pass even Bush with a whopping 1100 days out of office.

With all of these vacations, it seems clear that Biden never really wanted to be in the White House at all. Do you think a President has a responsibility to work from the White House? Why or why not?

  • As once an employer, I tend to look at what is produced, not how. I feel Mr. Biden is doing well enough under the circumstances. I've read so much about how he is failing, but almost nothing on what can be done. And so far all his challenges as president seem to be from the outside his Office - pandemic, Ukraine, RvW, petrolium... et al.
What would work for me is anyone coming up with workable answers to these problems.

    • Sorry but You are wrong... that's a full load of total hogwash and Biden himself has proven it so! There were clearly available alternatives that would have been entirely advantageous for each of those challenges but instead he ultimately chose to answer with politics. He has created horrific costs for all taxpayers of this country and other countries as well. Biden has exacerbated every situation you mentioned and his list of misguided remedies continues, his ineptness is an outright disaster and has been for fifty years. That is an absolute fact and it can not continue to be ignored. It was a mistake for anyone to ever believe he would be worthy as POTUS!

        Ok, let's see...
" There were clearly available alternatives that would have been entirely advantageous for each of those challenges but instead he ultimately chose to answer with politics "
Please list one, just one, example of an "advantageous" alternative for any one of "those challenges".

" He has created horrific costs for all taxpayers of this country and other countries as well "
How so? List just one please.

" Biden has exacerbated every situation you mentioned and his list of misguided remedies continues "
Please list one, just one, "situation" with "misguided remedies".

" his ineptness is an outright disaster and has been for fifty years "
List one, just one, from each decade please. Just one from one earlier decade would be acceptable also.

" That is an absolute fact and it can not continue to be ignored "
Well, thank you for your continued attention and concern.

" It was a mistake for anyone to ever believe he would be worthy as POTUS "
Ummm, are we still on Mr. Biden, or have we moved on to another "POTUS"?

        enjoy your new year

        • "OK, let's see... "
Well hopefully, you're not actually blind but you can start by opening your eyes and stop believing as you wish it all to be from the alphabet news media. I won't participate in hand holding but here's a couple for your list.
On day one of your guy in office, he shutdown the Keystone pipeline deal with Canada. That breach of contract with Canada cost US taxpayers around $15 Billion. He created a perfect storm for every American citizen to pay higher prices for fuel, food and all good and services throughout the country. I won't mention the illegal immigrant explosion but that is definitely an issue.

Biden pulled our troops from Afghanistan so chaotically, he abandoned and stranded American civilians along with their families. To date, his administration has no rescue plan for helping them get back to the USA, that's pretty horrific circumstances when ISIS comes knocking on doors to meet their beheading quota. Not to mention leaving around $85 Billion of brand new military equipment with the latest technology which is now obviously being reversed engineered by Chinese analysts. Clearly, there are better ways for handling a challenging situation just with those choices. Ultimately, what's coming for taxpayers from Biden economy is very bleak indeed. Armed IRS agents, wow! Yeah, I bet that's got them even scratching their heads. There's a lot more but frankly, I think I'll leave it there. So thanks but I decline your offer to extend any other responses about old Joe, I think you get my drift here. As for him being a worthy politician all I can say is he's extremely compromised, he certainly was as a Senator and he no doubt is still. And by the way, that's another fact... again, you're quite welcome! Biden has always been well documented for ridiculous gaffs, countless lies and plagiarisms and most especially his lasciviously deviant behavior around women and children. Again, it was a mistake to believe he (Biden)would be worthy as POTUS. You enjoy your year as well!

  • "The assessment comes as President Biden is preparing to spend yet another weekend at his beach house in Delaware. Sunday will mark his 500th day in office, at least if you count all of the time vacationing"
A "weekend" is "vacation"? I've been taking 52 2-day vacations every year for 50 years? Wow?

Mr. Bailey, in America, weekends are not vacations. Neither is lunchtime, restrooms or daydreaming.
"Back in February, the sitting President even bragged about all of his vacationing, saying, 'Every time I get a chance, I go home to Delaware. You think I’m joking. I’m not.'
Mr. Biden said he went back to Delaware. He didn't say he was on vacation. You did. The only one that has.

Note: "In office" doesn't mean "inside the White House". "In office" means the time as President of the United States of America, regardless of where his butt is at the moment. And, "not if," it does include vacation(actual) time.

    Fisher College. Interesting.
