California Task Force Proposes Reparations Going Back 2 Centuries and Separate Black Schools

Once upon a time, most Americans thought segregation was a bad thing and many worked very hard to desegregate our society. Now, California wants to go in reverse.

Following the passage of AB 3121 into law, signed by one of the nation’s most liberal governors, Gavin Newsom, a task force was created to study and develop reparation proposals for African Americans. In fact, that is the name of the task force.

Newsweek tweeted: “A California plan to financially compensate the descendants of enslaved African Americans could potentially see 2.8 million people in the state receive reparations.”

Now, the task force, composed of nine mostly black people, has released an almost 500 page report containing its recommendations. These recommendations include a proposal to “[e]stimate the value of Black-owned businesses and property in California stolen or destroyed through acts of racial terror, distribute this amount back to Black Californians, and make housing grants, zero-interest business and housing loans and grants available to Black Californians.” reports Breitbart.

One twitter user tweeted this response: “My ancestors were conquered and enslaved in Spain by Rome I want my reparations. And still some wonder why people flock from California to Texas.”

The task force also proposed “creating a separate system of publicly-funded black schools, described as ‘African American/American Freedmen owned and controlled K-12 schools, colleges and universities, trade and professional schools.’”

It should be noted that the California constitution states, “[t]he State shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting,” so at minimum, getting those proposed publicly funded black schools going could prove difficult.

Another twitter user had this to day about the recommendations: “White guilt? Kiss my white butt! That’s generations ago. Are you all stupid! Go to hell you rich liberal idiots!”

African American, or black, people deserve to be treated as equals, just as any human being does. But to go back two centuries for reparations will bankrupt California (again) and opening publicly funded black schools is not only unconstitutional, it promotes a return to segregation. What do you think of the task force’s recommendations?
