“Get rid of Republicans!” The View Host Declares They Want Party Banned

One of the hosts of The View declared this week that they want to get rid of the entire Republican party from the United States.

The conversation started normally enough, with Joy Behar calling on her fans to vote for Democrats if they want more gun restrictions.

“I always say don’t vote for Republicans,” co-host Joy Behar said. “Right now, I mean you can go back to it after you have gun laws.”

Behar then pointed out that in 1994, a handful of Republican politicians voted to ban “assault weapons”, helping to pass the bill. Following that election, many of those officials who supported the ban were voted out of office by angry constituents.

That’s when Sunny Hostin, arguably the most liberal of all the hosts on The View, chimed in with her own plan: Get rid of the Republican party for good. And why does she want to? Hostin claimed it’s the party of White Supremacy and mass shooting.

“Get rid of these weapons of war, and it’s not going to happen with Republicans in power. So I am now with you, Joy. Get rid of Republicans, get rid of the party, the party as it stands now, because it’s a party of White Supremacy, it’s the party of insurrectionists, it’s the party of massacres at this point,” Hostin declared. “You can’t trust it.”

Despite her claim, there has never been any evidence that mass shooters were Republicans. In fact, the white supremacist who shot up a Buffalo supermarket last month declared himself a “radical environmentalist”.

Democrats in Congress are currently pushing a bill that would ban clip sizes over 12 and weapons that require larger clips like that. This restriction would make many common home defense weapons illegal, including the most popular beginner’s gun in America, the Glock 19, which has a clip size of 15.

The bills come in the wake of multiple mass shootings using AR-15s in the last few weeks. While Democrats are hoping to ban the gun amongst others, it is unlikely to pass in the current split Senate. Do you think this recent string of high-profile gun violence will be enough to get Democrats elected like the hosts of The View suggested?
