Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Loudly Booed Leaving Cathedral During Platinum Jubilee

While leaving St. Paul’s Cathedral after attending an event included in Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were noticeably booed, despite the loud church bells, as they walked down the stairs.

Newsweek reported polling by Redfield and Wilton before the Jubilee that showed that Meghan Markle is viewed negatively by 47 percent of British adults – while only 26 percent like her. The boos in the video below seem to show that sentiment for the former television star.

Fox News reported Meghan Markle and Prince Harry chose to skip the reception at Guildhall after being booed.

“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left to go to their Windsor home of Frogmore Cottage this afternoon, leaving the rest of the royal family to attend a reception without them following the Service of Thanksgiving for the queen,” said royal reporter Neil Sean. “But why was that? Simple really. They could have attended but they must feel the frost in the room. And given the level of warmth they have received so far within the family this makes perfect sense.”

The queen was not at Service of Thanksgiving herself after she reported feeling “some discomfort” on Thursday.

“The Queen greatly enjoyed today’s Birthday Parade and Flypast but did experience some discomfort,” a statement from Buckingham Palace said. “Taking into account the journey and activity required to participate in tomorrow’s National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, Her Majesty with great reluctance has concluded that she will not attend.”

In contrast to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince William and Kate Middleton were met with plenty of cheers.

The event was also attended by Prince Charles, but Prince Andrew was absent after testing positive for COVID. There were also many more lords, prime ministers, members of the cabinet and party leaders in the audience at the Thanksgiving.

The queen’s official birthday began on Thursday with the lighting of the beacons, which the queen attended, and the Trooping the Colour. The event that the princes attended at the cathedral was the Service of Thanksgiving in honor of Elizabeth’s service.

The Platinum Jubilee marks 70 years of service by Queen Elizabeth the II the British Crown.

Do you think Prince Harry and Meghan deserved to be booed? Would you boo them? Let us know your thoughts.
