“Bless Her Heart” Brian Kemp Rips Stacey Abrams for Trashing Georgia

Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp tore into his Democrat opponent Stacey Abrams this week over her recent statements trashing his state.

Late last month Abrams, one of the most powerful Democrat fundraisers in the country, called Georgia the “worst state to live in” during a speech at the Gwinnett Democrats’ Bluetopia Gala in Norcross, Georgia on May 21.

“I am tired of hearing about how we’re the best state in the country to do business when we are the worst state in the country to live,” the candidate said. While she tried to cover up and justify her statement in future interviews, the soundbite was already out there.

Despite her claims, Kemp has continued to brag about Georgia, saying it is the #1 state to do business in, in the country.

Now Governor Kemp has released a new campaign ad where he tears into her anti-Georgia statements, including with the 3 words every southerner knows are the ultimate insult.

“Bless her heart,” the narrator in the commercial says. The ad continues “Georgia leads the nation in economic recovery. Georgia leads the nation because Brian Kemp is governor. He reopened Georgia first, brought thousands of jobs and Kemp’s cut taxes to help families deal with Biden’s inflation.”

Kemp has also suggested that Abrams doesn’t really care about Georgia or even want to be Governor, saying that she is simply trying to pad her credentials so she can run for the White House in 2024.

This is not the first time that Abrams has run against Kemp for Governor of Georgia. She first appeared on the national scene challenging the governor in 2018. Despite this, 2022 could be different since former President Trump has adamantly pushed back against Kemp after losing Georgia to Biden in the 2020 elections. Kemp still managed to soundly defeat Trump’s preferred candidate David Perdue in last month’s Republican primaries.

With elections coming up and Trump not standing down on his rejection of Kemp, Georgia’s election remains up in the air. Do you think the Republican majority in the state will be enough to defeat Stacey Abrams or will a split Republican voter base propel her to a surprise victory.
