“We Have A Problem In The Black Community,” NC Man Yells at City Meeting

During a city council meeting, a North Carolina man from Rocky Mountain criticized city officials during the City of Durham public hearing to go over the city manager’s proposed budget for the fiscal year.

The man’s name is Jahnmuad Lane and during his address at the public forum he made clear what he sees are the problems facing the Black community in his city. Notably, he is seen wearing a camo Trump hat during it.

“We have a problem in the black community and you need to address it. Black male, black police chief, black chair, black district attorney, and who are the ones laying on the street bleeding down and getting shot? Black folk!” Lane rebuked.

“The problem is, are you man enough or woman enough to address the community,” he concluded. See Lane believes that white supremacy isn’t the problem in black communities. It’s liberalism.

He used his time to also tear into the the local, soft-on-crime prosecutor, Santana Dewberry, and compared her to similar liberal prosecutors in Chicago.

“People are talking about Chicago and they’re talking about how it doesn’t work in Chicago. Yeah, because they’re not prosecuting people. If you’re not going to prosecute people, it’s not going to do any good,” he said.

He then went after Democrats for passing the 1994 crime bill and tells the audience that he is a proud Republican.

“In the 1990s, people complained about the 1994 crime bill. Well, it was a black folk that went to the Democrat Party. I’m a Republican. I got to admit, it was a black folk that went to the Democrat Party [and] asked to do something about our communities because they’re shooting and killing in here and they came up with the crime bill and it saved lives,” he said.

He believes that liberal policies are harming black people by putting more crime in their neighborhoods. Lane said the purpose of his speech was to bring a spotlight to the problems plaguing his city. After his remarks, the Durhham City manager called him a “jerk” for speaking his mind on the matter.

Lane previously ran for office to become the mayor of Durham. He lost the primary on October 5, 2021. He might have a bright future in politics if he can make his points so poignantly in the future.

It’s amazing how much liberals don’t like when Black people have their own views that aren’t progressive. These are his truths and he has every right as an American to speak them and to speak them loudly – which he did. Would you vote for this guy he ran for mayor in your town?
