Biden Just Assigned Kamala Harris To New Online Harassment Task Force

Not long ago, the Biden administration created the Disinformation Governance Board. Shortly thereafter, that Board’s head, Nina Jankowicz, was fired and the Board itself was shut down. It lasted less than a month. Many liberals, including Jankowicz, said she was harassed and that’s what led to her termination from the Board.

Now, Joe Biden has created what’s being called a task force to combat online abuse and harassment. Kamala Harris announced the launch of the new task force which she will head. Of the task force, Harris said, “No one should have to endure abuse just because they are attempting to participate in society,” reports Fox News.

The White House put out a memo about the new task force, which says it will be “specifically focused on technology-facilitated gender-based violence.” The memo condemns “gendered disinformation” and says the Biden administration will be “developing programs and policies to address online harassment, abuse, and disinformation campaigns targeting women and LGBTQI+ individuals who are public and political figures, government and civic leaders, activists, and journalists in the United States and globally.”

It also says, “[o]nline abuse and harassment, which aim to preclude women from political decision-making about their own lives and communities, undermine the functioning of democracy.”

During a recent press conference, Biden’s press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, completely dodged a question about how the new task force targeting online harassment and abuse will be different from the Disinformation Governance Board. Watch this:

The reporter says that on a background call before the task force was announced, they were told it would be different because it would focus on illegal conduct online. Then the reporter pointed out that what’s in the memo the White House put out is much broader than that. Jean-Pierre said she had no idea, she wasn’t on the call, and he’d have to ask “her.”

Fox points out that “[a]lthough Harris mentioned concern about white supremacy online and privacy protection for abortions in her remarks, neither she nor the memo mentioned far-left Antifa groups doxxing politicians or other dangerous leftist activity online.” To “dox” is to search for and publish private or identifying information about (a particular individual) on the internet, typically with malicious intent.”

It seems like this new task force could be just another version of the Disinformation Governance Board, but that remains to be seen. There are important questions that, so far, the Biden administration is refusing to answer. Liberals will ask what could possibly be wrong with stopping online harassment and abuse? The answer is that nothing is wrong with trying to curtail bad behavior, as long as the government doesn’t infringe on our Constitutional rights. And that’s where the Biden administration keeps crossing the line. What’s your opinion of this new task force?
