As Joe Biden and his “Border Czar” Kamala Harris continue to ignore the crisis of illegal migrants entering the country, Governors like Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott are doing everything in their power to stop the effects of Biden’s border crisis in their states. Recently, Florida Governor DeSantis announced his latest legislation to protect his state.

On Friday, DeSantis announced his three-part legislation to further protect Florida from illegal immigration. The first part, according to a press release from his office, is to form “a strike force of state and local law enforcement to interdict human smuggling, human trafficking, and to seize illegal weapons being transported through the state.

“Illegal aliens are being smuggled across the border in record numbers, which the reckless policies of the Biden administration facilitate,” said Governor Ron DeSantis in the press release. “Today, Florida has taken additional action to protect our state from the effects of what is a full-fledged border crisis.”

The second part of the three part plan has already begun with Governor DeSantis  filing a petition with the Florida Supreme Court to impanel a statewide grand jury to examine international human smuggling networks that bring aliens to the southern border, and ultimately to Florida. The Governor’s Petition states that often people pay thousands of dollars to transnational criminal organizations to smuggle children into the United States. It further states that these children are often smuggled alone and end up abused, raped and even killed. The Governor wants to stop this terrible process that Biden’s open border policies only encourage.

The third part is that DeSantis signed Senate Bill 1808, which is sweeping legislation he proposed to further protect Floridians from the Biden Border Crisis. The bill fights illegal immigration by mandating law enforcement agencies in Florida that oversee county detention facilities to work with ICE to enforce immigration laws, reports The Hill. Those law enforcement agencies will be required to “enter into a written agreement with ICE to participate in the 287(g) program.

“The bill also makes it illegal for a government entity to contract with a carrier company if that business is ‘willfully providing any service in furtherance of transporting’ to people whom they know are undocumented in the U.S. unless it is for deportation or detention purposes,” The Hill explained.

Of his new legislation, DeSantis said, “[p]eople will say ‘Well, let Texas worry about that or Arizona or whatever. Let me tell you, people coming illegally, a lot of them are trying to get here in the state of Florida, OK? And so this is something that absolutely affects us,” reports The Hill.

Illegal immigrants are being transported, by the Biden administration, all over the country. Governor DeSantis is trying to protect his state from the effects of that. Every governor of every state will soon need to protect their state in the way DeSantis is protecting his. Do you think what DeSantis is doing is necessary for Florida? Does your state’s governor need to act similarly?
