On Friday, June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe v. Wade in a 5-4 decision. Now, liberals are reacting with protests everywhere. Some large corporations are, too.
So far, many major corporations have said they will assist their employees with obtaining abortions out-of-state, if their state outlaws abortion, including but not limited to: Alaska Airlines, Dick’s Sporting Goods, JPMorgan, Lyft and Apple. These companies have pledged to cover travel expenses for employees seeking out-of-state abortions.
Alaska Airlines Senior Vice President of People Andy Schneider gave this statement on the day the Supreme Court released its decision: “We will continue, just as we always have, to provide employees with extensive benefits to support your health and well-being, no matter where you live.” Schneider added, “this includes reimbursing travel for certain medical procedures and treatments if they are not available where you live…[.]
Here’s how one Twitter user responded to Schneider’s statement: “@alaskaair MM/100K here. First Pride, now Roe. Look, I don’t need my airline to take a political position. Just shut up and get me to my destination safely and on time.”
Dick’s Sporting Goods also responded the the Supreme Court decision:
Dick’s intends to provide up to $4,000 in travel expense reimbursement for employees who live in states where they do not have legal access to an abortion. This includes any teammate, spouse or dependent enrolled in their medical plan, along with one support person.”
JPMorgan announced a similar plan saying that its “health care plans have historically covered travel benefits for certain covered services that would require travel,” but that in July that benefit would also include all covered services that can only be obtained far from an employee’s home, which would include legal abortion, according to an internal email Fox Business obtained.

If you looked at the map in that video, you can see that a lot of corporations are taking a liberal stand on this issue: Disney, Lyft, Uber, Starbuck, airbnb and more. They will assist their employees with obtaining abortions. Do you think it is the business of businesses to get involved in this way? Will you support these companies?
