Fauci’s Infection Rebounds After Paxlovid

White House infections disease specialist Dr. Anthony Fauci is rebounding from symptoms of the virus after he became sick earlier this month. He has been taking Pfizer’s antiviral drug Paxlovid to recover.

“It was sort of what people are referring to as a Paxlovid rebound,” Fauci said

Paxlovid is the top treatment for the pandemic. It’s an antiviral that’s used with high-risk patients, like Fauci who are elderly. The drug was approved by the FDA at the end of 2021.

Pfizer’s drug has reduced the risk of hospitalization and death by 89 percent for victims of the virus, according to UC San Diego Health.

Fauci spoke to the Foreign Policy global health summit on Tuesday, Fauci admitted that he tested negative for three days after taking Paxlovid, but then tested positive again on the fourth day.

Medical professionals call this “Paxlovid rebound.” Fauci described feeling “really poorly” and saying that his symptoms felt much worse two days after the rebound from taking Paxlovid. He needed a second dose of the drug to get over it.

The CDC does not give any guidance that additional Paxlovid is needed when someone is rebounding from the disease.

In May, the FDA also says “there is no evidence of benefit at this time for a longer course of treatment … or repeating a treatment course of Paxlovid in patients with recurrent COVID-19 symptoms following completion of a treatment course.”

Last week, Fauci spoke at a White House briefing and told journalists how he was feeling.

“All is well with Fauci and thank you for asking,” Fauci said. “I’m vaccinated. I’m doubly boosted. And I believe if that were not the case, I very likely would not be talking to you, looking as well as I look, I think, right now.”

Fauci has received all of his jabs and took the anti-viral Paxlovid. It’s amazing that he had such a bad time with it. Hopefully, he’s recovering fine and still planning on quitting by the time we get another President. Would you try Paxlovid? Have you tried it? Did it help? Let us know.

  • It could not happen to a more fitting FILTHY Anti-American FAUX "doctor". I applaud the infection of FAUX-ci! May he suffer as his "experimental vaccine" recipients!

  • Proof there's really no difference between democrats and republicans - Fauci isn't in prison.
