Rep AOC Teases 2024 Presidential Run On Colbert Show

Democrat Socialist Congresswoman AOC teased a potential 2024 Presidential bid during a recent interview with Steven Colbert.

Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sat down with the late night television host to discuss the recent repeal of Roe v Wade.

At one point in the interview Colbert asked Cortez, who turns 35 next month, if she has been eyeing the top office in the country recently.

Colbert asked, “I know somebody who’s going to turn 35 about a month before the election in 2024 and they represent New York’s 14th. Is that job appealing to you at all?”

Instead of immediately falling for the bait, AOC tried to push back about her focus on the immediate future. She said, “We need to focus on keeping a democracy for anybody to be president in the next couple of years. That’s my central focus is helping the people of this country right now.”

Unsatisfied with her answer, Colbert dug in even harder, asking, “So it’s possible?”

The congresswoman laughed and then gave a particularly revealing non-answer, even for a politician, “I don’t know about all that…you’re trying to get me in trouble, I don’t know about all that.”

The tease from the well known Congresswoman is not the first time she has waded into the 2024 Presidential election. Earlier in June she was asked if she was willing to support President Joe Biden if he runs for reelection while interviewing with CNN.

In that instance too she gave an answer about focusing on current issues and her existing race before dropping the hammer on the POTUS, telling Dana Bash, “So we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.”

Democrat Socialists have been gaining significant ground in recent years, especially around Presidential elections. Joe Biden barely beat AOC’s mentor, Senator Bernie Sanders, in the 2020 Democrat primaries. Do you think she stands a chance of winning her party’s nomination if she does run?
