Ilhan Omar Booed Off Stage At Somali Music Festival

A now viral video shows Rep. Ilhan Omar, 39, arriving to jeers and boos in front of a crowd of Somali’s this weekend, according to Fox News.

On Saturday, Omar made an appearance at the concert headlined by Somali singer Soldaan Seraar at the Target Center in Minneapolis. However as she went on stage, people can be heard chanting obscenities at her such as “get out!” and “get the f**k out of here.”

Omar can barely speak over the noise. It’s so bad that someone else on stage tells the crowd “don’t do this.”

“Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, we don’t have all night,” Omar can be heard shouting.

Omar posted a short clip of the video going on stage but avoided the part where people were heard booing her. The longer clip gained more steam on Twitter, though.

There is no indication in the video about why Omar was met with such obscenities. But according to Newsweek, it could be her support of abortion and LGBTQ rights. After the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade Omar was seen in Washington, D.C. protesting.

“In almost half of this country, states are ready to ban abortion,” Omar said that day. “Outright ban abortion. That means if you are sick, if you are raped, there is incest, you are forced to have that baby or die.”

Omar is a strong supporter of many progressive causes such as codifying abortion into law and packing the Supreme Court to make it more liberal.

It appears that not all is right in Minnesota? It’s interesting to see her get booed at and cursed at an event in her home state. It would appear that very progressive policies don’t play that well there. Why do you think she was booed?
