New York Mayor’s Aid Robbed At Gunpoint

One of Mayor Eric Adams’ aides was robbed with a gun in Brooklyn, New York, reported the New York Post. The aide has since been identified as 33-year-old Christopher Baugh. It comes as the mayor deals with a massive surge in property crimes sweeping the city this year.

According to the New York Post, an aide was walking in Brooklyn and was attacked by two suspects on foot.

“You don’t want to do this. I work for the mayor,” the aide told the robbers, according to law enforcement officials to New York Post.

One of the suspects then pointed to the gun tucked in his waistband in a threat and they made off with his cell phone and wallet.

Mayor Eric Adam’s office responded, “Today’s incident only further highlights the urgency to get dangerous guns and dangerous people off our streets as quickly as possible.”

According to the NYPD, there has been an increase of 39.7 percent more robberies this year than last. It’s likely because the economy is doing so poorly for many Americans.

Burglary is up 33.6 percent, car thefts are up 46.7 percent, assaults are up 19.3 percent, grand larceny is up 49.4 percent, and rapes are up 13.1 percent. However, murders dropped by just under 10 percent.

Mayor Adams ran on getting tough on crime in the city. He is a former NYPD captain, but said that the amount of crime in the city surprised even him when he first took office.

Kamala Harris Roasted Over Her Highland Park Speech

“Let me tell you something: When I started looking into this, I was shocked at how bad this place is,” he told the New York Post on June 27.

He recently decried the Supreme Court’s decision on open carry and pushed for gun control. He said that the SCOTUS decision would make the city like the wild west.

Crime is out of control in liberal cities and the biggest epidemic it can be blamed on is liberal policies making people poor and desperate. They preach about wanting to help people at, but in practice, their policies do not work and only help criminals. Do you think that it is guns or just plain old bad prosecuting that is leading to more crime in these cities?
