A frightening video has been making the rounds on the internet and it’s gone massively viral. It shows a couple narrowly avoiding getting shot and the bullet grazing close to where one was sitting moments before.

Their names are Garrett Mason and his fiance, Tina Do, and they were driving down highway 580 from Oakland to Pleasonton, California, to see their chiropractor when a firefight began between two other vehicles on the road. A round struck the passenger side of the front passenger window as they were driving and the victims narrowly avoided getting shot. Their dashcam captured the terrifying footage.

The fact that we got to see that happen is scary alone. Could you imagine if that happened while you were driving down the road? The woman was obviously freaked out as many people obviously would be. Thank God, the woman was not hit and she only got hit with the broken glass. One of them was treated at Eden Medical Center but will survive.

According to the Public Policy Institute of California, preliminary data from four of California’s major cities: Oakland, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco show marked increases in violent and property crimes over 2021. They also saw a rise in homicides of 17 percent. However, California’s violent and property crime rates hit historic lows in 2020.

There were 144 freeway shootings in the Bay Area’s nine counties in 2021 according to California Highway Patrol documents reported on by KTVU after getting them through a California Public Records request.
