Trump Tears Into Musk Over Twitter Deal and Voting Record

Former President Donald Trump went on the attack against Telsa CEO Elon Musk over his recently failed bid to buy Twitter as well has his newfound Republican identity.

The former President was holding a rally to support his chosen candidates in Alaska’s upcoming Republican primary when his ire turned to Musk.

According to Trump, the world’s richest man had previously told him that he voted Trump for President in the past. This seemed to upset the ex-president as Musk said in an interview last month that he had never voted as a Republican before 2022, but now cannot identify with Democrats anymore.

“You know he said the other day, ‘Oh, I’ve never voted for a Republican.’ I said, ‘I didn’t know that. He told me he voted for me,” Trump told the rally crowd while discussing Musk’s decision to pull out of Twitter.

“So he’s another bulls*** artist,” Donald Trump declared.

The Republican leader took another victory lap around Musk during the speech, reminding the crowd that he thought Elon was never serious in the first place.

“Elon is not gonna buy Twitter,” he said. “Where did you hear that before? From me.”

One of Trump’s supporters yelled back “Fake accounts”, a reference to Musks’ claim that Twitter knowingly overinflated their user numbers when they agreed on a buyout price.

‘He said fake accounts. A lot of them,” Trump repeated before adding, “No, he’s got himself a mess.”

The rally in Alaska was not the only time over the weekend that Trump celebrated the perceived failure from Musk. The former president also posted on his own Truth Social platform, “THE TWITTER DEAL IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE ‘TRUTH’!”

Donald Trump was once one of the most influential users on Twitter before he was banned by the network following the January 6th riots at the US Capitol. Afterwards he started TRUTH Social as a competing social media company, promising not to censor conservatives.

Elon Musk then offered to purchase Twitter for $44 billion and take it private, ending the political censorship in the process. This posed a huge threat to Truth social because of Twitter’s much larger active user base. Musk pulling out of the deal is likely to be a huge boon to Trump’s fledging social media network.

What do you think of Elon Musk? Are you glad that he is a Republican now or do you agree with Trump that he is just another “bullsh** artist”? Do you think he is actually done with Twitter or is this just part of his negotiations?
