Legendary rock band Rage Against the Machine trashed the Supreme Court of the United States during their first ever reunion show in 12 years.

While performing at the first show of their comeback tour at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in Wisconsin, the band projected the words “Abort the Supreme Court” in massive letters on a screen behind them.

“Forced birth in a country that is the only wealthy country in the world without any guaranteed paid parental leave at the national level,” read one of the captions on the sign.

Another said, “Forced birth in a country where gun violence is the number one cause of death among children and teenagers.”

“Forced birth in a country where Black birth-givers experience maternal mortality two to three times higher than that of white birth-givers,” said a third caption on the screen.

While the words were projected, the lead singer of the band, Zack de La Rocha, yelled out “yeah!” and “freedom!”

The band was being critical of a recent decision by the Supreme Court in the case of Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization. In their ruling, the Court reversed the constitutional protections for abortion access established by Roe v Wade nearly 50 years ago.

Rage Against the Machine isn’t the only American rock band to express their disgust with the highest court’s decision. Last month Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong announced at a concert in London, England that he was planning to renounce his US citizenship over the move. Armstrong said, “there’s just too much f—ing stupid in the world to go back to that miserable f—ing excuse for a country.”
