LeBron James: Russian Prisoner Griner Shouldn’t Want to Come Home

NBA legend LeBron James suggested in a recent interview that WNBA star and current Russian prisoner Brittney Griner shouldn’t want to come back.

The conversation of Griner’s imprisonment came up during a recent episode of HBO’s “The Shop” where celebrities sit around and casually discuss barbershop culture.

However, according to a recently released clip of the upcoming episode, the traditionally liberal James turned his ire against Joe Biden’s administration when the topic of Griner came up.

“Now, how can she feel like America has her back?” James said, suggesting that Biden had failed in his duty to try and protect the US citizen. “I would be feeling like, ‘Do I even want to go back to America?’”

Brittney Griner, who plays center for the WNBA team the Phoenix Mercury, was arrested in a Moscow airport back in February of this year. According to Russian authorities, she is being held on drug trafficking charges after she was found to have vape cartridges with cannabis oil in her bag. She was playing off season for a Russian basketball team to earn extra cash.

Since then President Joe Biden and his team have been under increasing scrutiny for failing to do enough to secure the release of the basketball player despite escalating tensions with Russia.

It wasn’t until early July, nearly 5 months after her arrest, that Biden finally reached out to the wife of the WNBA player. He told her they were pursuing “every avenue” possible to bring her home.

Last week Griner finally pled guilty to the charges against her, however she added that she had no intention to leave the hashish oil in her bag while traveling.

The switch by LeBron James is shocking to many after years of protesting “conservative” stances, such as opposing China’s strongman trade tactics. Do you think he is actually fed up with Biden and the left after what they did to Griner?
