On Thursday, the White House announced that Joe Biden had tested positive for the virus and is isolating himself. First Lady Jill Biden is responding to those claims and clarified to reporters how her husband is doing.
Dr. Jill told reporters on Thursday that Joe is feeling fine afterward and is isolating himself. She also mentioned that she is taking precautions now too.
“He’s doing fine, he’s feeling good. I tested negative this morning,” she said.
“I am, according to CDC guidelines, I am keeping masked and so I’d like to go in and see the program here,” Jill continued.
“He has begun taking Paxlovid. Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time,” Karine Jean-Pierre said on Thursday.
Biden did not have any scheduled events for three days after his trip to Saudi Arabia – which he returned from on Saturday.
He did speak in Somerset, Massachusetts, and discussed his green energy initiatives and made a major gaffe.
He remarked while speaking that he had cancer. The White House later clarified and said that Biden was talking about them removing skin cancer after surgery before he was president.
Biden is 79 and the oldest American President in history. Due to his age, he has an increased risk of severe illness and death from the virus. To date, he has gotten four shots of Pfizer’s jab. This reduces the risk of him having a serious reaction.

He had not gotten sick with the virus for over two years during the pandemic – even during his campaigning.
In October 2020, President Donald Trump was hospitalized with the virus for three nights at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and recovered.
