On Thursday, President Joe Biden tested positive for the virus. This comes a day after a speech he gave after returning from Saudi Arabia where he had a gaffe in which he said he had cancer.

“That’s why I grew up and so damn many other people I grew up with had cancer,” said Biden.

The White House later clarified that he was talking about skin cancer removals he had before his presidency.

Biden is 79 and the oldest American President in history. Due to his age, he has an increased risk of severe illness and death from the virus. To date, he has gotten four shots of Pfizer’s jab. This reduces the risk of him having a serious reaction.

“This morning, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre wrote in a statement this morning.

“He is fully vaccinated and twice boosted and experiencing very mild symptoms.  He has begun taking Paxlovid. Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time.  He has been in contact with members of the White House staff by phone this morning, and will participate in his planned meetings at the White House this morning via phone and Zoom from the residence.”

“Consistent with White House protocol for positive COVID cases, which goes above and beyond CDC guidance, he will continue to work in isolation until he tests negative,” Jean-Pierre continued. “Once he tests negative, he will return to in-person work.”

“Out of an abundance of transparency, the White House will provide a daily update on the President’s status as he continues to carry out the full duties of the office while in isolation,” she continued.

He had not gotten sick with the virus for over two years during the pandemic – even during his campaigning.

The White House is informing anyone he contacted on Thursday and the press he traveled with on Wednesday.

Biden’s previously tested for COVID on Tuesday, but had a negative result, according to the White House.

His diagnosis is only four days after he came back from Saudi Arabia where he had meetings with crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman with the goal of the kingdom increasing their oil production and lower gas prices at home. He previously called the prince a “pariah.”

In October 2020, President Donald Trump was hospitalized with the virus for three nights at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and recovered.

It’s obvious that this is a huge deal. Biden is not in the best of health and right before this he was not looking so hot during his speech where he said he had “cancer.” Do you think he will be okay?
