Liberals love to boycott and cancel. They’ve boycotted businesses and people. If some of them had their druthers, they might even boycott or cancel their own country. Their latest boycott is against a popular pharmacy company: Walgreens.
A movement to boycott Walgreens has more than 2.9 million views. You can find it under the hashtag #BoycottWalgreens on Tiktok. The reason is that Walgreens employees have allegedly refused to sell birth control and even condoms to customers.
One couple tweeted this story: “We went to Hayward to get some groceries and a stop at @Walgreens because we had left Jess birth control at home. As Jess was checking out, cashier John told her he couldn’t sell her the condoms. ‘Oh I got them from over there.’ ‘We can, but I won’t because of my faith.'”
“I was the only woman in the store at the time,” Jessica Pentz told The Star Tribune. “It was a very lonely moment.” The clerk asked his manager to ring him completely out of the register, to avoid any digital contact with a condom, Pentz said, and walked away with a smirk.
Occupy Democrats tweeted, “BREAKING: Walgreens is hit with a wave of boycotts after it’s revealed that employees are permitted to refuse the sale of condoms and emergency contraceptives to customers because of “moral objections,” meaning religious bigotry. RT IF YOU SUPPORT THE CALL TO #BoycottWalgreens !”
The Walgreens Company clarified its policy saying, “Our company policy allows team members to step away from completing a transaction to which they have a moral objection and refer the transaction to a fellow team member or manager who will complete the customer’s request.” “Our policies are designed to ensure we meet the needs of our patients and customers while respecting the religious and moral beliefs of our team members.” They say it’s rarely a problem.
33.44 million Americans used condoms in 2020, so it’s surprising this has just come up. It really must be rare, but now liberals want to shut the whole place down. The company is trying to respect the beliefs of its employees and will still sell the product, just with a different employee. The cashier could have handled it more discreetly, and just excused himself to get a manager, then no one would have been the wiser. Has anyone ever refused to sell you something?
