Legendary Conservative Goodfellas Actor Dies

Legendary conservative Goodfellas actor Paul Sorvino passed away on Monday morning.

Sorovino, who was 83 at the time of his passing, died of natural causes with his wife of 8 years, actress and political pundit Dee Dee Benkie, by his side.

‘Our hearts are broken, there will never be another Paul Sorvino, he was the love of my life, and one of the greatest performers to ever grace the screen and stage,’ Benkie said in a statement.

One of the last known photos of the famous performer was of him supporting the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution. In the Instagram post, Sorvino can be seen cleaning one of his shotguns. His wife added the caption above the photo, “You liberals who are talking about gun grabs. Try and come get our guns.”

Sorvino is best know for his role as Paul “Paulie” Cicero in the 1990’s mafia film Goodfellas. In the film, Paulie is portrayed as an older mafia crime boss who is trying to stop the younger members of the Lucchese mafia to avoid drugs and the drug trade.

His character’s attempts to avoid the sale of drugs fails and he is eventually sold out by his mobster protégée turned FBI informant Henry Hill.

The real Paul Sorvino was a career actor, taking a strong interest in musical theater at a young age. He leaves behind his wife and actor daughter, Mira Sorvino.

Mira posted a tribute to her late father on her Twitter account reading, “My father the great Paul Sorvino has passed. My heart is rent asunder- a life of love and joy and wisdom with him is over. He was the most wonderful father. I love him so much. I’m sending you love in the stars Dad as you ascend.”

His widow Dee Dee, whose Twitter handle @DeeDeeGOP shows her strong conservative support, also mourned her late husband, posting, “I am completely devastated The love of my life & the most wonderful man who has ever lived is gone . I am heartbroken.”

With the loss of Paul Sorvino, Hollywood has lost another one of the few remaining conservative actors left. Do you remember Paul? What would you say to his family in this trying time?
