KJP Clashes With Doocy Over “Redefining Recession”

On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and Fox News’ Peter Doocy clashed over the definition of a recession during a press briefing.

“If things are going so great, why are White House officials are redefining recession?” asked Doocy.

Jean-Pierre replied, “We are not.”

“It’s two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth… How is that not redefining recession?” asked Doocy incredulously.

“That’s not the definition,” said Jean-Pierre.

Jean-Pierre also discussed President Joe Biden’s reelection plans in 2024 and said that that the president absolutely plans on running again – despite the negative polling showing that even most Democrats do not want him to.

A new CNN poll shows that seventy-five percent of Democrats want anyone else other than Biden in 2024.

“We’re not worried about polls,” said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre when confronted with the negative numbers about her boss.

“The president has said – has been clear – that he intends to run but we are so far away from that time, from you know even being close to be thinking about that,” said KJP. “But what I can say is we’re going to continue to do the work that I just laid out.”

The White House press secretary then went after Republicans.

“I will say on the other side, you got the MAGA congressional Republicans who are putting forth plans that’s going to … sunset Medicare, sunset Social Security, right.? increase taxes for Americans making less than $100,000 a year.”

“That is that is what the plan is on the other side,” she continued. “At least this president has a plan. And he’s doing the work on behalf of the American people.”

Doocy Rips Into Biden Advisor Over Recession Statements

On Thursday, the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) will release their report showing whether we have had a second quarter of negative GDP growth. It is likely that it will.

How do you personally see the US economy? Do you think we are in a recession already? Most Americans do when polled and say that they think this country is on the wrong track. Let us know in the comments.
