Terror at Dallas Love Field Airport as Woman Starts Shooting

Maybe the whole country is on edge, after the rash of random mass shooting in the last several months. Being anywhere in public and hearing gun shots would be terrifying, and it just happened at Dallas Love Field Airport.

A 37-year-old woman started firing a gun into the air near a ticket counter at Dallas Love Field Airport recently. Terrified passengers hid under chairs or were evacuated when this occurred around 11:00 a.m. Shortly after the shooting began, a police officer at the airport engaged the woman, shooting and injuring her, which stopped the situation from going further.

Portia Odufuwa faces a charge of aggravated assault of a public servant because she allegedly fired one round toward the police officer, according to an arrest warrant.

The video released by the Dallas Police Department shows Odufuwa wandering around, then she suddenly starts shooting at the ceiling. A police officer can be seen walking right toward her because her behavior had drawn his attention. That officer has been identified as Officer Ronald Cronin, who at first runs when she begins shooting, then turns and shoots at her, hitting her. She pointed her gun directly at the officer. You can also see the passengers in the very crowded airport hit the ground when the shooting begins.

Other footage shows Odufuwa being dropped off at the airport by an Uber driver. Odufuwa enters the airport and wanders around. She walks passed some elevators, then goes into a restroom. After she comes out, she heads toward the ticket counters.

“Odufuwa was previously known to authorities after being arrested for robbing a bank in Wylie, Texas, in 2019,” reports the Daily Mail. She was the only one injured and was taken to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

One witness, Coby James, said Odufuwa announced something about her husband, Chris Brown, was having an affair and that she was about to “blow this mother f***er up” just before when she began shooting. He described the incident as being “terrifying” and “traumatic” and that he was worried about a 70-year-old woman nearby.

Odufuwa has been arrested several times and has been found incompetent to stand trial more than once. Her past charges include making a false report, pulling a fire alarm at a hotel, bank robbery and arson. It appears that all of the charges were ultimately dismissed but she was referred to mental health treatment with regard to two of the charges.

Prince Harry recently attacked American democracy while at the UN. Should he go back to England?

How scary for all of those passengers. It’s comforting to know, however, that the police officer was already aware of her, was headed toward her and ended the danger. Do we need more officers like him?
