Alex Stein Rips Uvalde City Council as “Cowards” To Their Faces

Political commentator and comedian Alex Stein made headlines for recently confronting AOC in front of Congress and trolling anti-Trump Rep. Adam Kinzinger, but has now turned his ire to Uvalde. He originally made headlines for going in front of Plano, Texas city council and rapping a song about how gas prices were way to high. However in a recent speech, he was not humorous and decided to shame the Uvalde City Council for their failures after the horrible shooting that took place there months ago.

It was a different sort of statement from the otherwise funnyman where he brought up issues surrounding school security, the council’s certification of the school district police officer in charge, Pete Arredondo, and the attempts by the left to turn the entire tragedy into a treatise on gun control.

His comments also come after Pete Arredondo resigned from the council following allegations that he was responsible for the botched response that included hundreds of officers seen on video waiting while the gunman murdered children inside the school. He released a resignation letter that claimed the move was in the “best interest of the community.”

“After much consideration, it is in the best interest of the community to step down as a member of the City Council for District 3 to minimize further distractions,” Arredondo wrote. “The Mayor, the City Council, and the City Staff must continue to move forward to unite our community, once again.”

His resignation came after it was reported this month that 376 law enforcement officials had descended on the school and yet none of them confronted the shooter until nearly 77 minutes after he began murdering children inside. That’s a larger force than the garrison that defended the Alamo, but despite that nobody decided to take on the shooter. On top of that, there are stories of the police stopping several parents from entering the school to save their children.

A new investigation shows that there were “systemic failures and egregious poor decision making” by everyone that was in command, according to the Texas Tribune.

Road Rage Shooting In Houston While 2 Year Old In Car All Caught On Video

This needed to happen. Many people in America are enraged that the shooter was allowed by law enforcement to murder indiscriminately while they did nothing. Stein is right that the town will always be stained by the tragedy and their poor response. Meanwhile, Washington has tried to use it as a reason to ban guns from the hands of law-abiding citizens instead of actually focusing on what happened that day. Do you think that Stein was right to confront the council like this?
