A retiring Illinois prosecutor used his last few moments on the job to tear into Democrat Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx for overseeing a rise in crime.
On Friday Prosecutor Jim Murphy, who held the title for 25 years, tendered his resignation after years of being forced to drop and ignore crimes at the whim of Foxx, a progressive State Attorney who is notoriously soft on crime.
“[I] can’t continue to work for an administration I don’t respect,” Murphy said in his resignation letter.
“I wish I could stay,” he continued. “However, I can no longer work for this Administration. I have zero confidence in leadership.”
“If this administration was truly concerned with effectively fighting violent crime, then they would fully staff those courtrooms and units,” Murphy added, while also slamming working conditions under Foxx’s reign. “Meanwhile the rest of us are overworked, overstressed, and under-resourced. But at least we were allowed to wear jeans in July.”
According tot FOX News, the resignation letter from the prosecutor highlighted an incident in which the media reported that a murder suspect was able to evade murder charges thanks to the progressive Safe-T Act (Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity-Today Act). According to his letter, Kim Foxx was clearly more upset over the headlines criticizing the progressive crime reform bill than she was about the victim of the actual crime.
“That is what is wrong with this administration,” Murphy wrote. “I’ve seen day after day. How many mass shootings do there have to be before something is done. This administration is more concerned with political narratives and agendas than with victims and prosecuting violent crime.”
He concluded, “That is why I can’t stay any longer.”
Kim Foxx gained nationwide notoriety during the 2019 trial of former “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett after he allegedly staged a fake hate crime and used police resources to bolster his career. Foxx, who had cozy relationship with the actor and his prominent Chicago-based family, announced a plea deal that saw all 17 charges against him dropped. She has also been noted as one of the top recipients of George Soros’s efforts to place woke State Attorneys, District Attorneys and Attorney Generals around the country.
The prosecutor who retired over the negligence of State Attorney Foxx seems completely justified in his decision. Do you think more prosecutors should resign in protest, especially since people like Foxx go out of their way to protect the criminals being prosecuted anyways?
