On Monday morning, Trump’s Mar-a-lago home was raided by FBI agents who were looking for documents. Conservatives were quick to disavow the political move. A new poll recently came out getting the thoughts of democrats and independents as well. 

A new poll came out asking people their thoughts on the recent FBI raid of Donald Trump 

According to The Post Millennial. It was revealed in a new poll published on Thursday that a vast majority of Republicans and independent voters do not think the raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property was a “reasonable step to pursue justice,” and that the raid further distances America from being a democracy based on freedom. The judge who signed off on the raid was scrutinized by Jesse Waters. 

With a margin of error of 2.9 percent, The Trafalgar Group and Convention of States Action interviewed 1095 likely general election voters between August 9 and 10.

In response to the question, “Do you believe the FBI raid on President Trump’s home was a reasonable step to pursue justice?”. 50.7 percent of respondents said it was not a reasonable step. It was considered a reasonable step by 49.3 percent of respondents.

However, Democrat support for the action was vastly higher, with 91.5 percent supporting it.

Republican and independent voters disagreed, with 84 and 58.6 percent saying the step wasn’t reasonable, respectively.

It was also asked if the FBI raid of Trump’s private residence brought the country closer to being a freedom-based democracy, and the majority said the event brought it farther. According to 48.7 percent of respondents, the raid brought the country closer to becoming a free and democratic nation.

Once again when looking at answers split by political party affiliation, democrats were strongly on the side of yes, while Republicans and independents answered no.

88 percent of Democrats said that the raid brings the country closer to being a freedom-based democratic republic, while 81.8 percent of Republicans and 58.6 percent of independents said it brings the country further away.

Americans are waking up to the political persecution of Trump. They can see the Democrats playing politics and they obviously don’t like it. If the FBI can do this to a former president, they can do it to you, and that is a scary thought.
