On Monday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released operational statistics for July 2022 which shows that the crisis at our southern border continues to roll on.
According to CBP, in total, there were 199,976 encounters along the southwest land border in July. This number is a four percent decrease compared to the previous month, where CBP reported at the time that there was a total of 207,416 encounters in June.
Two-thirds (67 percent) of all southwest land border encounters were single adults, with 134,362 encounters in July, and there were 13,299 unaccompanied children encounters in July, CBP noted.
CBP also reported that they intercepted a large amount of drugs during the month of July. Although cocaine seizures decreased by 56 percent, methamphetamine increased 15 percent, heroin seizures increased 8 percent, and fentanyl seizures increased 203 percent.
According to RNC Research on Twitter, more than 4.2 MILLION illegal immigrants have crossed the border since Biden took office.
According to FOX News’ Bill Meugin, in a 24-hour period over this past weekend, there were a “staggering 2,202 illegal crossings in the Del Rio sector.”
Despite the record high numbers from CBP, the Biden administration continues to downplay the crisis. Just recently, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas insisted that the border is in fact “secure.”
