Right when you thought the covid insanity was over, it pops right back up. Wait until you see what they’re doing now.

Covid is back but this time for pets. The Daily Wire Reports, For pets who may have been exposed to Coronavirus, Los Angeles County is now offering free COVID testing.

Free testing was announced earlier this week by the Veterinary Public Health Department and promoted on Twitter by the Los Angeles Department of Public Health.

“Your pet may be eligible for free SARS-CoV-2 testing if they were exposed to a human or animal with COVID-19 or has symptoms of COVID-19,” the tweet shared, offering a link for more information.

CDC and the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists have contributed funding to the new program. According to a statement from the health department, “Our goal is to test many different species of animals including wildlife (deer, bats, raccoons), pets (dogs, cats, hamsters, pocket pets), marine mammals (seals), and more.”

The announcement comes as the daily number of positive cases for Los Angeles County on Friday reached 4,274, with 13 more deaths. A total of 940 people in the county were hospitalized with the virus.

California isn’t the only place they’re testing pets for Covid. China is also testing animals

According to the BBC, After 40 cases of Covid-19 were detected in the coastal Chinese city of Xiamen this week, more than five million people were ordered to undergo testing.

The latest mass-testing drive is also expected to include some forms of sea life. Tests have been conducted even on hippos.

Xiamen’s Maritime Pandemic Control district committee issued a notice saying that “both fishermen and their seafood must be tested” when they return to their ports.

As a result of this latest outbreak, video footage has appeared on multiple social media platforms, including Douyin – China’s local version of TikTok – showing medical workers performing Covid-19 PCR tests on live fish and crabs.

I never thought I’d see fish get PCR tests. We may not live in China and have to test our fish but California is getting pretty close to that level. Who know maybe LA will start testing them next
