On Thursday, the Department of Justice hit their noon deadline to file any redactions to the affidavit connected to the FBI raid on President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

“The United States has filed a submission under seal per the Court’s order of Aug. 22,” Justice Department spokesman Anthony Coley said in a statement, according to the NY Post. “The Justice Department respectfully declines further comment as the Court considers the matter.”

This comes after US Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart, who approved the search warrant authorizing the Aug. 8 raid, denied the DOJ’s initial request to keep the full document private.

As we previously reported, Judge Reinhart admitted Monday that the FBI raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home was unprecedented and rejected the Justice Department’s argument to keep the affidavit leading to the search under seal, as the search was of “intense public and historical interest.”

Also, as we previously reported, Trump has called for the unsealing of the affidavit, writing on Truth Social, “There is no way to justify the unannounced RAID of Mar-a-Lago…But, in the interest of TRANSPARENCY, I call for the immediate release of the completely Unredacted Affidavit pertaining to this horrible and shocking BREAK-IN.”
